Morgan Pavement Slurry Seal
What Is Slurry Seal?
Slurry is a laboratory designed mixture of asphalt emulsion, aggregate, mineral filler, water and other additives accurately proportioned, mixed, and uniformly spread over a properly prepared surface. Slurry is made in specially designed equipment, that carries a quantity of unmixed materials which are blended together in a continuous flow pugmill. The use of this technologically advanced machinery insures a smooth, consistently uniform mixture.

Frequently Asked Questions
What are the types of slurry seal?
Slurry seal is a long-lasting treatment that will give your asphalt a fresh new look while also protecting it from its enemies. Slurry seal combines a mixture of water, asphalt emulsion, aggregate, and other additives. There are also three different varieties of thickness available: Type I, II, and III. The difference in each is the size of the aggregates that make up the slurry seal. You can work with our slurry seal specialists to understand which type would best match your project’s needs. How long does it take slurry seal to dry?
Slurry seal contractors usually apply slurry seal intermittently, depending on several factors. Once applied, slurry seal can take anywhere from 4 to 8 hours to dry, depending on temperatures and time of year that the material is applied. Working with our slurry seal contractors, you can determine how your location, amount of use, weather, and other factors will play a part in the replacement process. If your asphalt is a good candidate, the slurry seal process will include mixing and applying the asphalt using an expertly crafted application process. Once finished, the slurry seal will need 4-8 hours to harden before the road can open up to traffic.
What is the difference between a slurry seal and a seal coat?
The slurry seal application provides a new wear surface due to its aggregate combination, unlike a seal coat, which provides a smoother surface sealer that protects asphalt from oxidation and moisture penetration. Slurry seal is a popular choice for clients needing resurfacing services thanks to its durability and attractiveness. This asphalt re-pavement service provides a deep, luxurious black pavement look while restoring its full capabilities. Roadways coated with Slurry Seal also last up to seven years, much longer than most other types of asphalt surfaces.
